Luis Montiel Cendejas

— Background

Dr. Montiel is an Industrial Engineer from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey. He obtained a Master of Science in Management and Engineering (MS&E) from Stanford University and a Master of Financial Engineering from Columbia University in New York.

In 2006, he earned a Ph.D. degree in engineering from University of Texas at Austin where, in a two-year postdoctoral stay, he developed various projects and decision support tools in collaboration with Dr. Eric Bickel.

In 2014, Dr. Montiel returned to Mexico to direct the doctoral program in Financial Sciences at the Tecnológico de Monterrey. He is currently a full-time professor at Instituto Autónomo de México (ITAM).

Dr. Montiel has taught the courses in Economic Engineering, Production Management, Models and Optimization, Project Management, Decision Analysis and Operations.

He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI).
