Mexico City Institute of Technology (MexicoTech) is a new type of higher education institution that develops technologies and conducts research on the behavior and impact of complex economic and social systems, such as cities, high-tech industry and networks to help solving Mexico’s most urgent problems. MexicoTech is also an education innovation laboratory that collaborates with other institutions to offer high-quality undergraduate and graduate programs to students from all social and economic strata. The education that MexicoTech offers combines engineering, social sciences, humanities and arts, which seeks to train students comprehensively and make them aware of the human, ethical, social, economic and environmental implications of their decisions.
MexicoTech was founded by a group of scholars and businessmen committed to advancing engineering, humanities, arts, and the social sciences and offering high-quality education to improve the well-being of society. However, MexicoTech’s founders believe that such improvements cannot fully benefit society without an adequate perspective of their moral and ethical consequences. Because of this, MexicoTech does rigorous research to examine the application of Catholic Philosophy and Theology to the technological, social and political challenges humanity faces.
