Gustavo García Vázquez
— Background
Gustavo is COO of Nirva Construcciones and professor at Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara. Gustavo has a great passion for civil engineering and business. This passion and his hard work have given Gustavo the opportunity to consult and work in capital projects across the US, Mexico, and South Africa. His continuous commitment to deploy new technologies to increase productivity in the construction industry, has given him a unique approach to construction management and project controls.
As an advocate of new construction management techniques and cutting-edge business strategies, Gustavo has been invited to present his findings in very diverse number of forums, such as the World Economic Forum, AVEVA Technologies and the Construction Industry Institute. This diverse experience has helped him to understand the engineering problems and business constraints related to the development of capital projects. With such approach Gustavo has formed a global vision of the multiple challenges faced by the construction industry.
Gustavo graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. During graduate school, Gustavo concentrated in construction management and real estate strategy. His research focuses in the synergies between BIM and Lean Construction. He is proactive team player and he likes to work in fast pace environments in which he can face new challenges every day.
