Eduardo Piedra González

— Background

Eduardo Piedra-González holds a BA in Economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónmo de México. He also holds a master’s in economics from both the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the University of Texas at Austin.

Until December 2018, Mr. Piedra González was General Director for Productivity Policy and Projects at the Mexican Ministry of Finance (SHCP), where he coordinated the National Productivity Committee, a public-private body in charge of the design and analysis of public policies for productivity in Mexico.

Before holding this position, he was Deputy General Director for Economic Productivity and Director for Regional and Sectorial Analysis at the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Piedra-González also worked for the Mexican Central Bank (Banco de Mexico), where he was an analyst at the General Direction of Economic Research. He has also experience teaching economics at the University of Texas at Austin, the Austin Community College and the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth in Mexico.
