Gabriel Castillo is doing a doctorate in computer science at the Character Animation Lab, University of California, Davis. His research is focused on the expression of emotion by virtual agents. He is co-founder of AthleticOutlook, a platform that connects athletes with university coaches. Gabriel was also part of the cEnergi Lab where he developed applications to track energy consumption in offices and in personal transport media. Before pursuing a Ph.D., Gabriel worked for several IT companies, such as IBM, Freescale, Softtek and Google. Gabriel was director of the Department of Computer Science at the Universidad Panamericana, Campus Guadalajara. Gabriel obtained his degree in Computer Science from the University of the Americas, Puebla and a diploma in Ethics and Anthropology from the Universidad Panamericana, campus Guadalajara.
